Business and promotional experience: I have worked in sales and management of many technology related businesses. My exploration of computers and telecommunications, and its role in business lead me to public speaking and writing on both business and technology issues. Back in 1990, I wrote my first article for a regional business journal on integrating technology into the average business. The article on Computerized Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) explained how the average business could use this technology as a system of information gathering and storage, as a tool for customer service. Since that time I have written numerous articles for business journals, as well as public speaking for workshops and promotional events. I have been a service manager for small computer service companies, as well as a retail store manager responsible for management and general store operations. As a service manager for small computer service companies, as well as a retail store manager, I have been responsible for updating and maintaining numerous budgets. I have received corporate training in profit and loss management, and numerous other budget planning matters. My professional web sites focus on sharing some of my experiences with others looking to explore technology as a profession, as well as help small business people looking to integrate technology into their lives. Experience over the years: Both my technology training, and my role as a trainer, began twenty years ago as a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, where I learned the latest technology, and then trained other members of my unit, and other units on this technology. After first learning BASIC programming in high school, entered the world of programming on my own, with the purchase of a Commodore VIC 20. Began working with computer applications such as data bases, word processors, spread sheets, financial packages, and PC telecommunications back in the days of DOS. |
